For people of a certain age, 'Sister Act 2' was one of the biggest films of their generation.
Not only did the musical comedy sequel introduce us to a young Lauryn Hill, but it also meant that religious songs like 'Oh Happy Day' and 'Joyful Joyful' never sounded cooler in the hands of the fictional St. Francis School Choir.
In the 1993 film, Whoopi Goldberg plays Deloris Von Cartier, who in the first 'Sister Act' movie was hidden from her mobster boyfriend by an order of nuns.
In the sequel, she is asked to don the habit once again as 'Sr. Mary Clarence' to help teach music in her old school, which is in danger of being closed. She forms a choir who go on to compete in state finals and shed light on the plight of the ailing school.
One of the biggest moments in the film is the performance of the song 'Oh Happy Day', sung by the choir and led by Ahmal, played by actor Ryan Toby.
For the film's 30th anniversary (+1 year), Goldberg reunited the cast - including her fellow nun, Kathy Najimy - for a rendition of 'Oh Happy Day' and 'Joyful Joyful' on 'The View', and it proved especially emotional for Goldberg, who broke down in tears.
Alas, Lauryn Hill must have missed the invite...
