Shannen Doherty's co-stars and friends are paying tribute to the actress following her death over the weekend. The former 'Beverly Hills 90210' and 'Charmed' star had been fighting cancer since 2015.

A statement from her publicist Leslie Sloane to People magazine, said: "It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease."

Doherty starred in the 1988 movie 'Heathers' alongside Winona Ryder, going on to star as Brenda Walsh in 'Beverley Hills 90210' and Prue Halliwell in 'Charmed'. Other roles included 'Mallrats' and 'Little House on the Prairie'.

The 53-year-old's '90210' on-screen brother Jason Priestly said of her passing: "Shocked and saddened to hear about the passing of my friend Shannen. She was a force of nature and I will miss her. Sending love and light to her family in this dark time."

Other co-stars and friends who have paid tribute to Doherty include Brian Austen Green, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Gabrielle Carteris, Rose McGowan, Olivia Munn and more.
