If your TV memory is as good as ours then you might just remember that it was Brian Kennedy who made the rather unpopular decision to send future Britain's Got Talent darling Ryan O'Shaughnessy packing on The Voice of Ireland way back when, so it'll be rather interesting to see how the pair fare when they go head to head on RTE One's The Hit later this year.
Ryan was on Brian's team back in 2012, and survived the battle round, only to be sent home by his mentor after the first live show: Then he popped up on Britian's Got Talent and the rest, as they say, is history. To be honest, we thought he was too until we saw his name on the list of artists lined up for The Hit. Anyway, we're sure sparks will fly when the pair battle to find the perfect song on August 2nd, y'know, for the sake of a bit of 'good' telly.
You might be surprised to hear who else will be facing off when Aidan Power and Nicky Byrne bring the show to RTE One from July 26th. First up it's The Stunning (sans backing dancer Kathryn Thomas, sadly) and Julie Feeney, followed by the aforementioned Brian and Ryan, and then it's the one and only Johnny Logan versus Duke Special on August 9th.
Samantha Mumba makes her return to Irish telly when she faces off against Republic of Loose on August 16th, and the final battle is fought between Mundy and Finbar Furey on August 23rd. Sure would you be right lads? That's an awful lot of familiar names and faces.
The real question is, will any of them be able to find the perfect 'choon' and turn into a sure fire hit? Guess you'll have to wait and see...
