Now that the Dubliner has been hosting 'The Late Late Show' for over a decade, Mike asked him what he'd like to do when he finally stepped down from the most coveted gig in Irish broadcasting.
"I've got loads of ideas of documentaries I'd like to make " adding "If i'm told (or asked)... good luck from Montrose, that peculiar and wonderful planet, I don't think i'd be bored for too long."
When Mike asked Ryan what kind of documentaries he'd like to produce, using the much-loved BBC documentarian Louis Theroux as an example, Tubs responded "I'd love to do something like Louis Theroux. I did a travel piece once for a show called 'No Frontiers' and it stays with me, I got a great kick out of it."
Ryan has written a children's book called 'The First Christmas Jumper' that's available in all good book shops now.
