Despite fireworks, a water-jet demonstration and some of the most well-known Irish bands playing, it seems like viewers were left more than a little cold from RTE's New Years Eve coverage.
A number of glitches were noticed by viewers, which meant that the countdown itself was only caught for the finale, whilst the fireworks themselves were considered somewhat paltry by others. Not surprisingly, the whole thing wasn't received warmly on Twitter either.
Here's just a selection of some of the comments.
Broken feed. Kodaline. No presenter. Random drummers. No presenter. No indication it's nearly midnight. 4. 3. 2. 1. New Years. No presenter. 6 fireworks. Let's have a 90s rave with some lads on jetpacks. 7 fireworks. Ole ole ole. No presenter. Kodaline
Thanks @RTE. Happy 1993

Is it no Budget or just no imangation/creation in RTE to produce a show like this for a New Years Eve🙈🙈
