Richard Hammond, one of the former presenters of Top Gear, has been rushed to hospital in Switzerland following a car crash.
It's understood that Hammond was driving on a road that was closed for Bergrennen Hemberg Race in the canton of St. Gallen, which is in the north east of Switzerland. The Grand Tour, Hammond's new show with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard May, was filming in the area.
The extent of Hammond's injuries are not yet known, but it has been confirmed that Hammond was airlifted to hospital. Local newspaper 20 Minuten showed images of Hammond's car wreckage and smoke fumes coming from it.
Hammond was involved in a serious accident in 2006, when the presenter crashed a drag-racing car that was travelling at a speed of 288 m/ph at the time of the incident. Hammond sustained major injuries at that crash and was in a coma for almost two weeks.
A statement just released by The Grand Tour confirmed the accident in Switzerland and that Hammond has not received serious injuries from the accident.

It was the biggest crash I've ever seen and the most frightening but incredibly, and thankfully, Richard seems to be mostly OK.
