We've just spent the morning at the Christmas screening of TV3's Red Rock at Lighthouse Cinema, and while there is very little we can say about it, we will warn you that fans of the soap will be in for a mahooosive shock this Christmas.

Tears will be shed, we definitely left a few behind us in the theatre. Kudos to Red Rock though, you couldn't fault the episode with superb writing and acting at its best. It's genuinely surpassed all expectation and is great Irish drama... it still feels odd just calling it a soap.

So who is going to meet their maker this festive season? We're going to have to leave you guessing on that one, but it really is wide open considering nobody in Red Rock is short of enemies.

Speaking at the special screening today, Gareth Philips, Executive Producer of Red Rock, said: "We really wanted this character’s loss to be a huge surprise to our audience. We’re so proud of these episodes and really hope the audience gets behind us. It was a big decision for us to kill off one of our central characters, but much like when ‘Games of Thrones’ killed Sean Bean in its first series, we felt losing this character would open up new story opportunities for the future."

Whether you're a fan of the show or not, get yourself to a telly on Wednesday Dec. 30th at 8.30pm on TV3. You won't want to miss it.
