It really is going from bad to worse to much, much worse for Ray D'Arcy.
After facing down another barrage of criticism last week, there's now fresh calls for Ray D'Arcy's late night talk show to be cancelled in the wake of a particularly squirmy interview with former Baywatch star Pamela Anderson.
Anderson was hit with a variety of questions and really poor jokes of the course of the interview, including a reference to a short-lived sitcom Anderson took part in called Stacked and a photo of her at a formal ceremony with the Prince of Montenegro.
Unsurprisingly, Twitter was in uproar following the interview with Maia Dunphy leading the charge.
The relentless innuendo of that interview was unnecessary and disrespectful. Really surprised at #RayDarcyShow . Pamela seemed lovely.

It wasn't just Maia Dunphy, however. Many people were slamming D'Arcy's interview style and noted the fact the next interview after Pamela Anderson was Roisin Ingle of the Irish Times discussing the role of feminism.
#RayDarcyShow terrible interview last night with Pamela A. Cheap and insulting. Pleasant lady with a lot of patience.

Ray Darcy was a disgrace speaking to a woman like that. I can't believe Pamela Anderson took that shit. #RayDarcyShow #PamelaAnderson

Ugh Ray Darcy such a shite interviewer. Pushing Pamala Anderson to talk about her sex tape despite her clearly not wanting to #RayDarcyShow

You have to wonder how long RTE can expect to hold off its critics when there's this level of abuse and vitriol coming in over social media and beyond. We wrote a feature article on Ray D'Arcy's future just this day last week which you can check out over here.
In the meantime, let's hide under the covers and forget this ever happened.
