Surely celebrities know by now they shouldn't go comparing themselves to religious figures? Piers Morgan didn't go down the 'bigger than Jesus' route, but certainly the next big thing. Following the news this week that the chat show host's American TV show will be axed, there has been the typical Twitter storm of reactions. People aren't all too upset about the news, and haven't been shy about letting Piers know either.
Piers however, can undoubtedly hold his own, and decided to defend myself:
The Pope currently has 441,000,000 Google hits to his name. I have 484,000,000. I reckon I'll be OK. But thanks for the concern everyone.

Bigger than the Pope no less, now none of us are particularly holding on tightly to any religious views here, but fair to say, to make the comparison at all is, I don't know, arrogant? I know, so UNLIKE Piers. But look, who needs our opinion when we have the good folk of Twitter to take him down a peg or two...
He doesn't have an Aston Martin Rapide though > RT @SoopaJuice @piersmorgan the Pope has the Pope Mobile. You don't. I would be concerned.
