Earlier in the year, the BBC aired Louis Theroux's powerful documentary 'Drinking to Oblivion', which gave us a heartbreaking insight into the mind and life of an alcoholic.
One of the most memorable cases was that of Joe Walker, who you may recall was shown leaving hospital to buy more alcohol after a doctor told him that further drinking would kill him.
Thankfully, Joe got himself into a detox programme and is now doing incredibly well. He tweeted a picture of himself this morning to celebrate one year sober.
1 YEAR SOBER TODAY! Thanku to all who followed and sent gorgeous messages after @louistheroux doc. Happy :) Love x pic.twitter.com/XQKwEo8FOM

Louis has also kept in touch with Joe and the pair tweeted a picture together a few months ago.

Fantastic to see how much he has turned things around for himself.
