'David' and 'Debbie' from Emmerdale have tied the knot.
The soap stars are parents to two children, Buster, aged seven, and Bowie, age 2, and surprised both their guests and the general public by suddenly getting hitched.
The couple invited guests to Harrogate's Ripley Castle under the belief they were attending Charley's 30th birthday. When they arrived, they entered a lavish wedding ceremony.
Charley told OK!: “That moment when we announced what we were doing and seeing everybody’s reaction is the best moment of my life.
“This way we got to do it totally the way we wanted – it wasn’t traditional, we didn’t have a sit-down meal and there weren’t loads of speeches. Someone once told me their friend had a surprise wedding and it stuck in my mind.”
Matthew added: “We couldn’t have had a better response. People just screamed for about ten minutes!”
Attendees included co-star friends Lucy Pargeter, Roxy Shahidi, Zoe Henry, Charlotte Bellamy, Sammy Winward, Emma Atkins and Kate Oates, who ended up being Charley's bridesmaids. Her sister, Cassie, and on-screen dad, Jeff Hordley, also joined the celebrations. EastEnders star Jamie Lomas walked the bride down the aisle.
Congrats to the happy couple!
