Fans of Doctor Who were out in force last night to watch 'Deep Breaths', the first episode of Season 8 of Doctor Who.
The long-running sci-fi series saw Peter Capaldi step in the role of Time Lord, joined by series regular and companion Jenna Coleman.
Replacing (or regenerating, if you want to get pedantic) Matt Smith, Peter Capaldi's iteration of the Doctor looks like he's been taking style tips from David Bowie's character in The Man Who Fell To Earth. Which is pretty cool, frankly.
Fan reactions have been mixed overall, with some slamming Moffat's poor writing - there was a T-Rex in London, apparently - whilst praising Capaldi's performance in the role.
The show hit a whopping 7.3 million viewers at its peak, accounting for 32.5% of the total share of TV audience. This didn't top the return of the show with Christopher Eccleston's character back in 2005, which hit 9.9 million viewers.
The next episode will air on August 30th.
