Channel 4 viewers were left raging after yet another favourite was forced to hang up their apron at the end of the semi-final.
In the final to last 'Bake Off' episode of 2020, the topic of the week was all things patisserie. A boozy cake was first up on the agenda, followed by a Danish cornucopia cake for the technical challenge, before the showstopper of making a cake out of lots of smaller cakes.
Sadly, the four remaining contestants were whittled down to just three finalists, resulting in Hermine being the casualty of the week.
We’re so sad to see Hermine leave the Bake Off Tent after so many wonderful creations throughout the series - and much laughter too. A very bright future lies ahead! #GBBO pic.twitter.com/b0Lw8ZyxkY

And so, next week will see Peter, Dave, and Laura be in the running for this year's coveted title.

Here's some of the reaction Hermine's departure has been getting online on week nine of the competition, as well as the reaction to that innuendo-filled technical challenge.

What a shame that Bake Off has been cancelled

I don't usually get angry about the Great British Bake Off of all things, but the fact that Laura has gone through yet again is ludicrous! She's been bad for several weeks in a row now. #GBBO

For my Bake off fans.... can I just say that I’m in complete shock that hermine’s just been sent home ?! She’s messed up one thing and Laura’s messed up 6163 times? (No shade on Laura) but WTFFF??? #bakeoff

Can't really disagree with Grimmy on this one.
Sorry but the Bake Off semi final then I’m A Celeb followed by The Crown is a line up that the Pyramid Stage would be jealous of
