Owen Wilson is giving up the big screen for porn... well, not exactly. Wilson is currently developing TV drama Wonderworld, which will be set in the porn industry in the 1980s.
Wonderworld, based on the true story of one the biggest undercover operations in FBI history, follows two straight laced FBI agents as they delve into the murky world of mobs and porn with some horrible consequences. The official blurb for the drama reads as 'Set in Ronald Reagan's America and inspired by one of the biggest undercover operations in FBI history, 'WonderWorld' follows two straight-arrow FBI agents as they infiltrate the violent Mob-controlled porn industry of the 1980s, with dire consequences for themselves and their families.'
The show is still in the early stages but Wilson will be executive producer on the project along with Rene Balcer, Fred Berner, and Regina Lee. Wilson has co written on films Bottle Rocket and The Royal Tenenbaums, so this will be an interesting new venture for him.
