Those of you who fancy getting your mug on the television should get yourself down to Temple Bar this Friday where an open casting for extras is being held for a brand new US TV show.

The production company behind it are looking for people who fit the Neanderthal, Viking, African or Mediterranean look and are over 16-years-old for what will be a fully paid role in the new show which is hoping to be Ireland’s next ‘Game of Thrones’ or ‘Vikings’.

So basically if your mate's hipster beard has reached Neanderthal levels, tell him to get on down there!

The prehistoric drama will be filmed in Dublin and Wicklow, and while there's no other details available at the moment, we can tell you that if you're interested you need to get yourself down to Filmbase on Curved Street in Temple Bar this Friday April 15th where the casting call is taking place from 11am-5pm.

If it's in any way as popular as the Vikings auditions for extras last year, then we'd advise getting there early.
