Ever since ‘The Great British Bake Off’ made its return in August, fans have been hanging tight waiting for Noel Fielding, who hosts the show alongside Sandi Toksvig, to make reference to one of his many iconic shows. Their dreams were answered last night when the actor and comedian mentioned ‘The Mighty Boosh’, the wacky BBC television show that aired from 2003-07 and helped him rise to prominence.
He was chatting with contestant Kim-Joy, who was last week’s star baker, when the reference slipped and he said: ‘I played a merman once called Old Gregg.’
Tweeters went nuts about it:
Noel finally dropped a Boosh reference on Bake Off
Last night’s episode saw Dan Beasley-Harling booted from the baking tent, after his three bakes for pastry week failed to impress the judges. Mind you it wasn’t nearly as emotional as last week’s episode.
