The rumour mill has been on overdrive this week as long term X Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary hinted that he may not return for the next series. Now he did only say maybe but already bookies are placing their bets on who would replace him.
O' Leary's exact words were; “Of course I love doing it, and it’s a huge part of my life, but it’s eight years now. I haven’t made up my mind yet. If a new challenge came up that meant I couldn’t do both, then…”
If he does quit, then bookies reckon that it will be Celebrity Big Brother host Emma Willis that will be brought in to take over.
Emma, who also co-hosts The Voice UK with Marvin Humes, is at odds of 4/1 to replace Dermot, followed by Khloe Kardashian - who briefly hosted the US version - at 6/1. Fearne Cotton is third with odds of 8/1, matching former Xtra Factor host Caroline Flack.
Jedward are even in the running, albeit it's a long shot at 100/1 odds. Can you even imagine? Dear Lord....
A Paddy Power spokesperson told The Mirror; "With Dermot hinting he’s done his last series, it looks like Emma’s going to be one with the X Factor come summer. Emma has certainly proved she can preside over live telly, hosting both Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother, as well as BBC's X Factor rival, The Voice."
No more Dermot O'Leary though? He IS X Factor! Who else could tell us when our Saturday night starts with that little spin of his?
Don't leave us, Dermo!
