Poor Trevor Noah, who has easily slipped into the biggest pair of boots in TV history - recently housed by Jon Stewarts pins - has been rushed to hospital for an emergency appendectomy yesterday. 

As for the show being cancelled - last night's show obviously didn't go ahead - with Comedy Central tweeting they were going to air an "encore episode" instead. That's a "repeat" to you and me. 

They tweeted: "We're happy to report the procedure went well and he is currently recuperating from the surgery. As a result The Daily Show will air an encore tonight. We expect he and the show will be back with an original episode tomorrow."

Yep, you read that right. He'll be back tonight after suffering an emergency appendectomy. No rest for the wicked.
