It's been a rather spiffing year for Netflix's original content so it's no wonder that the streaming giant is planning ahead with a fair bit of gusto, and has even began thinking about House of Cards Season 3.

As per Deadline, Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos revealed that himself and the gang are eager to see even more Frank Underwood action while speaking at the 2013 Film Independent Forum. "Our intent is that the show keep going for sure,” Sarandos said during his keynote address, "it was not our intent that it just run for two seasons".

He didn't stop there either, telling Deadline that talks about a third season "are in progress right now" after his speech. "So stay tuned" he teased. And to think, Season 2 isn't even close to hitting the internet yet!

If what Sarandos is saying is true, it will certainly contradict what former House of Cards Executive Producer Rick Cleveland said last month. He was of the opinion that the show would definitely end after Season 2, especially given the fact that its lead actors rather liked "making movies".

Could Kevin Spacey and co come back for a third season? Guess we'll just have to watch this space...
