It's starting to feel like some genie granted Brendan O'Carroll his three wishes at some point, with all the awards Mrs Brown's Boys is racking up. Last night the show sustained its winning streak by getting the gong for Best Comedy at The National Television Awards for the second year in a row.
The show was up against tough competition as well - fellow nominees were Derek, The Big Bang Theory and Miranda. Brendan and the whole gang were all there to pick up the award too, including his wife and co-star Jennifer Gibney.
They spoke about their shock at winning backstage afterwards, with Brendan joking that he had voted for Derek. Mrs Brown herself also made a brief appearance as the actor went into character to say; "Thank you very much, I was thinking about it last night, and I can't think of anybody that deserves it more. God bless you, now feck off!"
