RTE launched their brand new TV lineup for 2013/14 today, and with it came news of what we can expect from the upcoming 4th season of smash hit drama Love/Hate. They may only be getting to know Nidge and co across the water, but for us here on the Emerald Isle, his next move isn't too far off.
SPOILER ALERT: What follows is a brief summary of the context in which we find our favourite gangland friends after the events of Season 3. If you'd rather know absolutely nothing at all, we suggest you look away now, but if you don't mind the odd spoiler, have a little gawk at young Darren and read on.
As dawn breaks on Season 4, Nidge and his cohorts are feeling the bite of the recession, doing their best to get by in their own special way. The kingpin is not at all happy with a client who has fallen behind on his brothel tab, and uses the situation to his advantage: A bit of extortion never hurt anybody, wha? What the gang don't know is that the Gardaí are getting suspicious about their antics, and there's a brand new semi-autonomous squad of secret undercover operatives, headed by Detective Inspector Mick Moynihan (Brían F O’Byrne), on their trail. He's just as clever as our Nidge, and he'll do anything to get his man.
As always, the paranoia is paramount, and while Nidge continues to suffer from anxiety, he's working day and night to secure the deal of a lifetime. If only he knew that someone was watching his every move...
There's only one word for it gang: Coolaboola.
