Mike Myers has been out of the spotlight in recent years, but the comedy icon is back with a big-budget Netflix show that will release this May.
'The Pentaverate' will see the star play eight different characters, ranging from an investigative journalist, a conspiracy theorist radio host, a media mogul and a tech genius.
The impressive supporting cast sees the likes of Ken Jeong, Keegan Michael-Key and Jennifer Saunders playing supporting characters against Myers' tour-de-force.
'The Pentaverate' will launch on Netflix on May 5th, and the trailer offers a glimpse at the wide range of characters Myers will play.
Per Deadline Hollywood, 'The Pentaverate' explores a secret society of five men who have been working to influence world events since the 1300s, and Myers' journalist character Ken Scarborough sets out on a mission to expose the truth.
The star is famous for playing multiple characters in his films, an ode to his idol Peter Sellers, with the 'Austin Powers' films serving as the best example of Mike Myers' willingness to play more than one character.
Myers was considered one of the biggest comedy stars of the 1990s thanks to the likes of 'Wayne's World' and 'Austin Powers' and the 'Shrek' films introduced him to a new generation of comedy fans, but 2008's 'The Love Guru' killed the momentum of Myers' career.
The actor's last major role was a brief appearance in 2018's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' with 'The Pentaverate' being positioned as a comeback role for the comedy star.
Judging from the trailer, 'The Pentaverate' hopes to capture the same slightly surreal, oddball energy that made Myers such a star to begin with, with rich set design, a 60's aesthetic, and most crucially, Myers vanishing into a variety of different roles.
'The Pentaverate' will launch on Netflix on May 5th.
