Well, looks like Scary Spice won't be heading back to the UK for a bit of X Factor madness after all. Despite all that speculation that Simon Cowell wanted her to spice up (no pun intended) the lagging series, she's actually going to take Sharon Osbourne's spot behind the America's Got Talent desk.
NBC's President of Alternative Television Paul Telegdy confirmed the news to Entertainment Weekly. "I've known Melanie since she did Dancing with the Stars... to know her is to know a very frank, strong, enduring entertainer", he said. "[She's] someone who has a very strong point of view," Well Paul, you're not wrong there love. "We needed somebody who was qualified for the job. She's an amazing singer, dancer and a huge personality" Telegdy added. "The contestants will get a lot of constructive feedback from her, and I can't wait to see her chemistry with Howard and Howie."
Mel will join comedian Howie Mandel and broadcaster Howard Stern, attempting to fill Mrs O's shoes for Series 8 of the popular talent search. Speaking of Sharon, wasn't she looking well at last night's BRIT Awards? We're still waiting to see if those X Factor UK comeback rumours have any truth in 'em. Here's hoping lads, here's hoping.
