Matt Le Blanc has reportedly signed a deal worth £2m to replace Chris Evans as the host of Top Gear.
The Sun are reporting that the BBC gave into Le Blanc's pay demands after losing the Great British Bake Off to rivals Channel 4. Le Blanc had been in negotiations with the broadcaster since his previous deal expired in June.
Le Blanc appeared as a presenter on the show last season alongside Chris Evans and proved to be quite popular with fans that in general weren't pleased with the new look Top Gear.
In addition to agreeing to the hefty pay demands, the BBC also agreed to schedule filming around the Le Blanc's US sitcom, Man with a Plan.
Eddie Jordan, Sabine Schmitz, Rory Reid and Chris Harris are expected to appear as presenters alongside Le Blanc.
Update: The BBC has confirmed that Matt Le Blanc will return as host.
Patrick Holland, BBC Two Channel Editor has released a statement confirming Matt Le Blanc will return to Top Gear.
"I am thrilled that Matt LeBlanc is returning to Top Gear. He's a huge talent whose love of cars is infectious. I can't wait for the series to return to BBC Two next year."
