Two names obviously synonymous with all things cinematic; Mairead Farrell from The Ray D'Arcy Show and Eoghan McDermott off The Voice have been named as presenters of The Movie Show (not to be confused with this Movie Show), which is due to air from November 1st.
So they're the hosts. Who are the reporters going to be? We have stylist Angela Scanlon, Rob Ross (no idea, apologies, apparently he used to present something called ICE on RTE) and model Daniella Moyles.
OK, so none of them have a background in movies per se (Rob Ross might, who knows), but they'll all be talking about movies regardless.
According to the press release we've just received, it will be: "30 minutes of the wonderful world of movies with interviews and reviews, behind-the-scenes footage and sneak-peaks of the latest blockbuster films. The 16-part series, showing every Thursday on RTE Two at 9pm is just the ticket to get us prepped and primed for the flicks... This action-packed show will also feature competitions, with prizes to include much sought-after tickets to glitzy film premieres."
Speaking of his new post, McDermott said: "I'm completely excited and delighted to be working on The Movie Show with Mairead. Not only do we have the dream job of watching new films and chatting with exceptional acting talent, but we'll be giving the great people of Ireland rare and exclusive insights into life behind the camera on all sorts of exciting productions. And I fancy Mairead. Result!"
Somewhere within Montrose, Dave Fanning is scratching his head.
By the by, the show is being sponsored by Ford Ireland, in case you were wondering why they were flinging popcorn about outside a car showroom.
