Love/Hate has garnered the international media attention it deserves as it was recently nominated for two awards at the 53rd Festival de Télévision de Monte-Carlo. Swelling with pride. Nominated for Best International Drama TV Series and Best European Drama TV Series, the hit RTE drama lost out to Breaking Bad and Denmark's Borgen, but the show's creators are nonetheless delighted to have been considered for the prestigious awards.
Producers Suzanne McAuley and Steve Matthews and director David Caffrey attended the festival. A cocktail reception was held for guests at the Palace, with the post-awards dinner held at the Monte-Carlo Sporting Club where music was provided by Chic. Both Prince Albert II of Monaco and Irish actor Stuart Townsend met and interacted with the Love/Hate creative team.
McAuley stated 'there's an amazing atmosphere here in Monaco – it's a wonderful moment for Love/Hate to be acknowledged and recognised on the world stage. We celebrated in style last night – they really know how to throw a party here!' We bet they do Suzanne, we bet they do.
