ITV's ice-skating competition series which is basically 'Strictly Come Dancing' but 100 times more dangerous, has cast its first round of celebrities.
'Love Island' star Liberty Poole is one of the newest 'Dancing On Ice' celebrities that will be joining the series set for January 2022.
Poole was a fan-favourite on ITV's other reality show, 'Love Island', during the past summer. Matching up with her summer romance Jake Cornish on day one, their relationship, unfortunately, turned sour before the final episode of the series. Both contestants decided to leave the villa earlier than anticipated.
Speaking to ITV about her new TV role, Poole revealed that has some figure skating experience, thanks to her mum. She said: "I grew up watching 'Dancing On Ice' and my mum actually used to be a figure skater. I ice skate as a hobby sometimes so I can get around the rink but I can't do any tricks, no pirouetting or anything so I'm really looking forward to pushing myself and learning as much as I possibly can.
"Not just skating around the ice but actually dancing on ice. Bring it on!"
Liberty Poole will face some stiff competition on 'Dancing On Ice' series 14. Also in the line-up for January are English Rugby Union star and ex-husband of Una Healy, Ben Foden; 'Coronation Street' actor Sally Dynevor; Happy Mondays band member Bez; Paralympic medalist Stef Reid; and Regan Gascoigne, the son of English footballer Paul Gascoigne.
The six remaining stars for 'Dancing On Ice', hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, are expected to be announced later today.
The contestants will begin their ice skating training for the next three months ahead of the series kicking off in January next year.
