In a recent interview, Evangeline Lilly described how she was "basically cornered into doing a scene partially naked" during an episode of the hit series, 'Lost'.
Lilly told the Lost Boys podcast that the scene was particularly traumatising for her, and described being "mortified", "trembling" and "crying (her) eyes out" after it was finished. Lilly also added that she was asked to do another partially nude scene in the following scene, but point-blank refused to do so. "I said, ‘That’s it, no more. You can write whatever you want, I won’t do it. I will never take my clothes off on this show again,' and I didn't."
The actor has been pretty open about how tough the set was on 'Lost', and openly admitted that she basically retired after the series ended - and was only tempted back when Peter Jackson offered her the role of Tauriel in 'The Hobbit' trilogy. "I’ve been doing this now for 15 years. I’m a little bit better equipped now to know the ropes to not have uncomfortable positions come up now," said Lilly.
In a statement released to People Magazine after the comments began to do the rounds, producers JJ Abrams, Carlton Cuse, Damon Lindelof and Jack Bender apologised to Lilly, saying that they " profoundly apologize for the experience she detailed while working on Lost," and added that "(no) person should ever feel unsafe at work. Period."
Lilly currently stars in 'Ant-Man and The Wasp', which is now in Irish cinemas.
