Even without providing a single video clip or an image of it, 'The Late Late Country Special' already evokes some wild visual moments.
It could be the sight of all the dark suits and thin ties worn by the male singers - even though it's supposed to be a country special. It could be Ryan Tubridy rocking a jeans-and-sheauxs combo once again this year. Or it could be the mere idea of Nathan Carter trying to emulate Bradley Cooper from 'A Star Is Born'.
Whatever it was, this year's episode was... received in the same manner on Twitter as last year's. Some of the standout moments of the night included a child covering his ears (and capturing the nation's mood, if Twitter is anything to go by), and Nathan Carter mauling 'Shallow' from 'A Star Is Born'.
Here's some of the best tweets from the night.
Congratulations to Nathan Carter who has tonight overtaken Gay Byrne with the most appearances on The Late Late Show.#LateLateCountrySpecial

The #latelate should go for the jugular and do a country music valentine's toy show special where the furniture refurbishing winner gets to represent Ireland at the Eurovision!!#LateLateCountrySpecial #LateLateShow

My only hope is that Garth Brooks bursts into the studio à la Stone Cold Steve Austin downing cans with Standing Outside the Fire as the entrance music #latelatecountryspecial pic.twitter.com/wuh8GRaRz2
