Charlene and Scott are back! Fresh pictures from the 'Neighbours' finale have been shared online, giving us a sneak peek at the two returning faces.
Alas, the end is nigh for 'Neighbours'. After 37 years on television, the Aussie soap will end this summer in what is expected to be quite a nostalgic conclusion. Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan, who started out their careers in Erinsborough in the '80s, will make guest appearances in the 'Neighbours' finale and here's our first look at the two stars and their heartwarming reunion.
Back in February, there were rumours that the popular soap would be coming to an end, and the disappointing news was finally confirmed in March. Not long after that, Kylie and Jason were announced to be making a return as Charlene and Scott Robinson, both of whom exited the show in the late '80s.
Kylie Minogue shared the images on her Twitter of the pair of them on Ramsay Street, writing a lyric from her and Jason Donovan's duet 'Especially For You': "'Now we're back together."
Jason also shared the pictures, writing: "So good to be back with this absolute legend [Kylie Minogue].
"Scott and Charlene final scenes [love heart]."
Charlene and Scott's relationship on the soap was far from straightforward, with the pair first being adversaries, then marrying, but both also cheating on the other numerous times. Kylie left the soap in 1988 after two and a half years to pursue her growing music career, while Jason left a year later. Although both were asked back for different anniversaries of the show over the years, both stars will leave it for the 'Neighbours' finale to make their grand returns.
Former 'Neighbours' stars who are also lined up for a guest appearance at some point in the final episode include Guy Pearce, Pippa Black and Olympia Valance.
The 'Neighbours' finale will air on Channel 5 at 9 pm on Friday, July 29. RTÉ 2 will air the final episode on Wednesday, August 3.
