On Sunday's episode of Last Week Tonight, John Oliver's report was on Vice President Mike Pence, highlighting his awful record on LGBT issues. It finished with Oliver launching his new children's book 'Marlon Bundo' about Vice President Mike Pence's gay pet rabbit.
It's in competition with a children's book by vice-presidential family members Charlotte and Karen Pence called 'Marlon Bundo's: A Day in the Life of the Vice President' which details a fictional day in the life of Marlon Bundo, pet rabbit of Vice President of the United States Mike Pence.
It seems Oliver's book is proving much more popular though, selling out in just a day and already at No. 1 on Amazon while the Pence family’s Bundo book trails at No. 5.
Oliver joined Ellen DeGeneres today to chat about the book, whose proceeds will go to The Trevor Project and AIDS United, telling the host that he wanted it to be something he could read to his two-year-old son that would paint the world in a more positive light than the "rollercoaster of pain" it is now.
