People may be frustrated that for some, as soon as Halloween is over (or even before), it's time to start prepping for Christmas. Some say it should be reserved for December. But why wait? Moreover, we get treated to some top notch ads, the most highly anticipated one of which is the John Lewis Christmas ad.
In the past, John Lewis & Partners ads have introduced us to beloved characters like Monty the penguin, Moz the monster, Edgar the dragon, and Buster the boxer.
They've used songs like Gabrielle Aplin's cover of "The Power of Love" or Lily Allen's "Somewhere Only We Know" just beautifully.
This time round, the ad has heavy leanings towards 'E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.'
It's titled "Unexpected Guest" and depicts the unlikely friendship between a young boy called Nathan and space traveller Skye.
When Skye's spacecraft crashes on earth, Nathan introduces her to festive traditions, such as fairy lights, a snowball fight, and mince pies.
Once she has fixed her ship, Nathan gifts her a Christmas jumper and she pecks him on the cheek.
Like we said, the John Lewis ads know the value of music, and their latest includes the song is "Together in Electric Dreams", as sung by LolaYoung.
Here's the commerical.
You can listen to the song in full here.
