We love Joel McHale. He's always felt like a guy who should be doing stuff on a far bigger scale - despite his obvious success.
The Soup is a cast-iron classic of talk television and Community will remain a cult favourite for years to come - while we can also see him in this season of The X-Files. But what next for the handsome comedian?
Well, he's just signed a deal to front a pilot for popular American network CBS. It's a multicamera set-up (which means a sitcom) and is called The Great Outdoors. McHale will play a writer for the magazine of the same name, having climbed mountains and done all of that manly craic. But when an injury forces him to head up the digital arm of the mag, hilarity ensues. No, we're not being sarcastic - it actually might.
It comes via the brain of Tosh.0's Mike Gibbons which is only a good thing. If you haven't seen that show and aren't easily offended we highly recommend it. It's like that clip show Alex Zane does, only actually good.
The Great Outdoors is only in pilot mode, but here's hoping CBS pick it up.
