We thought it was already official, but now it's officially official that Jason Dohring, aka Logan Echolls, will be back for the Veronica Mars movie. Officially, y'know, just in case you didn't get that there.

Series creator Rob Thomas announced that the actor, who played Veronica's on-again off-again love, is the third to officially sign on to the project, after Kristen Bell and the rather generous person who donated an awful lot of money to nab a speaking role in the film. Hope they're not useless now...

We know that Logan and Veronica will not be together when we return to Neptune. In fact, she won't have seen him for a whole nine years, and will be involved with someone else. TV Line reports that Logan will play a rather big role in the movie though, as Veronica gets dragged into a murder mystery involving his pop star girlfriend. Well, he always did like those complicated relationships now didn't he?

And as for the Kickstarter fund for the project? It's at $4.4 million with 10 days still to go. Better make it a good'un so!
