If there really is a 'Seinfeld' reunion or reboot on the cards - as was teased recently by Jerry Seinfeld - it's shaping up to be a lonely one for the comedian and actor.
Seinfield recently said that he and the show's co-creator Larry David had been thinking about "something" to do with the show's ending, leading many to believe that a revival was on the cards.
But now Jason Alexander, who played George Constanza on the iconic sitcom from 1989 to 1998, is the latest cast member to claim that he knows nothing about an alleged reboot.
There is only one reason for that rumor,” Alexander said in an interview. “Apparently, at the end of some stand-up thing, [Seinfeld] went, ‘Larry [David] and I are thinking of something.’ Good for you. I don’t know anything about it… No one called me.”
He added: "Apparently, they don’t need George and they may not need Elaine ’cause Julia [Louis-Dreyfus] and I went, ‘Do you know anything about this? I don’t know anything about this,’ and I just talked to Michael [Richards] the other day and I don’t think he knew anything about it."
His comments follow on from Julia Louis-Dreyfus's equally confused response when asked about it in an interview: "Yeah, I just saw [that news] last night. And I don’t know what the hell he’s talking about."
Whether it's still in the works or will happen at all... or will (groan) take the form of a Super Bowl ad or similar, remains to be seen.
