Oh Jamie Foxx, is there anything you can't do. The Oscar winner and soon-to-be Spiderman villain has just signed up to write, produce and direct a new horror series for SyFy, ie the channel that's just ordered a remake of Blake's Seven.
The fantastic Mr Foxx will be working on a five-episode series of morality tales, which is due to debut on SyFy in the USA in October. If you want to get a taster of what's in store, then think back to old school classics like Tales from the Crypt and The Twilight Zone. Cue the music!
Apparently the series will be jam packed with important lessons for the viewers too, with themses like envy and superficiality being explored throughout the five episodes. This is a project that I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m so happy to see it come to life,” said Foxx. "Get ready to lose it when some special friends and I bring the scares this October, and who knows… maybe I’ll make a guest appearance or two along the way!"
His special friends include Terminator Salvation screenwriter Mike Ferris and Everwood's John Pogue. Must be nice to have those big names at your beck and call wha? And of course SyFy are only delighted to have Jamie and co. on board. "Jamie Foxx’s passion and unique perspective will transform these universal insights on the human condition into emotionally potent and truly scary cautionary tales." said Mark Stern, the channel's President of Original Content.
So, there you have it: Another movie star given eh, artistic licence to run riot and errr, spread some important messages along the way. It's not like Jamie needs to though, sure hasn't he already informed us about the perils of the 'goldigga', wha?
