And before you get your knickers in a twist, it's not that Late Late Show, it's the other Late Late Show. Tubs ain't going anywhere for the time being folks, so calm down.
Not content with starring alongside some of Hollywood's biggest names like Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp in Disney's forthcoming musical adaptation Into The Woods and Keira Knightley in Begin Again, it seems like James Corden has had his eyes set on a far bigger prize for a long time and has now landed the soon-to-be-vacated hosting role on CBS's late night chat show The Late Late Show.
Current host Craig Ferguson announced earlier this year that he would be leaving the show in December after nine years on the show, with names like Neil Patrick Harris, Chelsea Handler and Joel McHale thrown around as possible replacements but if The Wrap is to be believed, the gig now belongs to Corden. While not a major name in the States, Corden does have plenty of hosting experience under his belt (we all remember when he interrupted Adele at the Brits to introduce Blur...) as well as a rake of celeb mates to get on the show (hello all of One Direction) so he should be alright.
Let's just hope he doesn't cross anyone like he did with Patrick Stewart. Or actually maybe we should hope for it. It makes great TV.
