ITV are the latest station to attempt to reboot the classic Roger Moore starring series, The Saint.
Previously Val Kilmer dropped the Batman franchise to star in a poorly received film version, while there has been multiple attempts to bring it back to the small screen - attempts that never got past the pilot stage.
In the original series, Moore played a "morally grey" character, who is described as a modern day Robin Hood. Or at least he was in the 60s when the show was on anyway.
The new version will have a writer/producer team who've worked on The Walking Dead and Prey - Ed Whitmore and Chris Lunt - so there's caliber there in terms of slick production and strong characters. Bearing in mind that Sherlock is currently huge for the BBC, this sounds like a wise move.
Filming is expected to begin next year, with the lead actor the first piece of the puzzle. We reckon Cillian Murphy. Just because.
