Scandinavian crime dramas are all the rage these days so it's no surprise to see another iconic mystery drama jumping on the Nordic bandwagon just in time for its 100th episode.
Midsomer's DCI Barnaby and DS Nelson are heading off to Denmark for a Midsomer Murders special by the name of 'The Killings at Copenhagen'. They'll be joined on screen by actors from two of the biggest Danish dramas, Ann Eleonora Jorgensen (The Killing) and Borgen's Birgitte Hjort Sorensen.
Believe it or not, the ITV drama is already well known in Denmark as Barnaby, and has been enjoying pretty decent viewing figures for the guts of 12 years. "The idea to shoot in Denmark came about because we wanted to do something special to mark the 100th episode, and it's great to be working with [Danish TV network] DR, producer of the award-winning series The Killing", said Jo Wright, the show's executive producer.
We're sure murder mystery fans won't be complaining.
