Chris Noth's Mr. Big ended up being Mr. Right for Carrie Bradshaw at the end of Sex and the City but it turns out the producers of the show didn't necessarily think that Noth was Mr. Right for them when they were casting the role.
Darren Star, the creator of the hit TV show has spoken about how they initially wanted another A List actor for the part.
“I was thinking of Alec Baldwin for Big initially," Star said.
We know right? We reckon that would have been a way different interpretation of the character.
However Star did admit that once he met Noth in person he knew he was the one for the part.
"I don’t really watch 'Law & Order,' but I met with Chris Noth and thought he was perfect," Star said. "I remember the first table read, how good he was. I’m not saying that Chris was Mr. Big, but he brought a lot of his own persona to the role."
While we agree that Noth was perfect in the role we can't help but wonder what Baldwin would have brought to the role. It's for the best though because had he done that he most likely wouldn't have ended up playing Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock and that would have been the greatest crime of all.
