The FX anthology series 'American Crime Story' now brings viewers its third season - 'Impeachment'.
'Impeachment' follows 'The People v. O. J. Simpson' and 'The Assassination of Gianni Versace'.
It depicts the Clinton–Lewinsky scandal, whereby it emerged that the former American President had an affair with a 22-year-old White House intern.
The season will star Sarah Paulson, Beanie Feldstein and Margo Martindale.
Clive Owen will play Bill Clinton, and thanks to hair and make-up, he has totally transformed for the role.
Other cast members include Anthony Green, Billy Eichner, Cobie Smulders, Edie Falco, Annaleigh Ashford and Colin Hanks.
'Impeachment' suffered a number of delays due to the pandemic, Ryan Murphy's busy schedule, and to avoid run ins with the 2020 Presidential election.
The official synopsis from FX reads: "'Impeachment: American Crime Story' is a limited series examining the national crisis that led to the first impeachment of a U.S. President in over a century.
"It tells this story through the eyes of the women at the center of the events: Monica Lewinsky (Beanie Feldstein), Linda Tripp (Sarah Paulson) and Paula Jones (Annaleigh Ashford).
"All three were thrust into the public spotlight during a time of corrosive partisan rancor, shifting sexual politics and a changing media landscape.
"The series shows how power lifts some and disposes of others in the halls of our most sacred institutions.”
The season is set to premiere on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 10pm on FX.
Details of when and where it will debut on Irish screens are TBC.
