It's been three years since the credits rolled on the final ever episode of How I Met Your Mother and ever since there has been much talk of a spin-off on the way that would gender-swap the storyline and call it How I Met Your Dad.
There have been two attempts made for the new show already. The first was set to see Greta Gerwig take the lead, however that was scrapped by CBS, and the second version, from This Is Us writers Elizabeth Berger and Isaac Aptake, was shelved because of their busy work schedules.
It seems 20th Century Fox is hoping it's third time a charm however with Fox chairman Dana Walden confirming to Deadline that the studio will try again with different writers.
"They will be starting from scratch", she said. "It’s one that’s been slowly cooked. If it’s the right idea the right execution, we’ll take that."
Let's just hope it doesn't take nine seasons for this person to meet their kids' father... and then they go and kill him off. No, we're still not over it.
