It's all about the pickups this morning what with Sharon Horgan's Pulling, well, pulling ABC Stateside. Now word's come in that Sleepy Hollow's been picked up by Fox for a pilot. Minus Johnny Depp mind you, and without Christopher Walken. Sadface.
But there's no need to lose the head just yet because the small screen adaptation is being penned by Star Trek Into Darkness writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, and directed by Underworld's Len Wiseman. Talk about your heavy hitters eh? Wonder if that's got anything to do with the fact that rival network the CW have been developing a series based on the franchise for quite a while now?
Deadline's got the goss on the storyline for the series and says the pilot will follow Ichabod Crane as he teams with Sleepy Hollow's female sheriff to solve supernatural mysteries. Sounds a bit Elementary meets Supernatural to us so it does, but we'll reserve judgement for now.
And there's plenty more drama where that came from, what with Fox ordering pilors for The List and Delerim. The List comes from Lost writer Paul Zbyszewski and follows a Deputy US Marshal on his happy journey to find a killer who is targeting members of the Witness Protection Programme. And Delirium tells the tale of Lena Holloway, a young woman who falls in love in some mad futuristic world where emotion has conveniently been eradicated. Talk about taking He's Just Not That Into You to a whole new level...
