Tina Hobley is best known to most of us as Chrissie Williams, the live-saving medic on BBC's Holby City but after spending ten long years in her scrubs, Hobley has revealed she'd like a change of tack - by playing a 'lady of the night' on Downton Abbey.
Speaking to the Telegraph, Hobley said: "I want to get as far away from Chrissie as I can. So I am looking for gritty dramas."
The actress also revealed that Hobley, who left Holby City in June, has turned down a couple of separate offers to return to the small screen to roles which she deemed to similar to that which she spent nearly 12 years of her career doing.
"I am not going to take something just because it's a job", she said. "I am going to wait for the right thing."
Could that 'right thing' be playing a prossie on one of the most watched shows in the UK & Ireland? I guess there's one way to find out. Over to you, Downton Abbey casting directors.
