Did you know that back when Harry Styles was first catapulted to fame on X Factor with One Direction that he lived on a mattress in his friend Ben Winston's attic for over a year and a half? And nobody even knew about it, well not at the time anyways.

Winston has directed a number of One Direction music videos and is currently an executive producer on The Late Late Show with James Corden. In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine last year he told how Styles was originally supposed to move in with him and his wife for a couple weeks as a house he was looking at nearby needed some work, however he ended up staying for 20 months.

"Two weeks later and he hadn't bought his house yet," said Winston. "It wasn't going through. Then he said, 'I'm going to stay until Christmas, if you don't mind.' Then Christmas came, and ..."

He continued: "Those 20 months were when they went from being on a reality show, X Factor, to being the biggest-selling artists in the world. That period of time, he was living with us in the most mundane suburban situation. No one ever found out, really. Even when we went out for a meal, it's such a sweet family neighborhood, no one dreamed it was actually him. But he made our house a home. And when he moved out, we were gutted."

Styles and Winston are now using it as inspiration for a sitcom they will executive produce on CBS called Happy Together. It will star Damon Wayans Jr and Amber Stevens West as a married couple whose suburban lives are disrupted when a young pop star (played by Australian Felix Mallard) moves in with them.

It is set to premiere on CBS in autumn.
