If ever you wanted a good, clear indication that the juice is running out of 'Grey's Anatomy', just look at the trailer for the upcoming 15th season.
If you think it looks ridiculous, over-the-top and running on its last legs, you're not alone because Ellen Pompeo - Dr. Meredith Grey herself - is in the same boat. In an interview with EW, Pompeo laid out her feelings in pretty blunt terms and gave the strongest indication yet that the series is coming to an end pretty soon.
"I'm clearly not prepared right now to make any formal announcement about what my future is on the show, but I am really feeling like we have told the majority of the stories that we can tell," said Pompeo. She went on, admitting that she herself is "definitely looking for a change."
The show itself is now without its long-running showrunner and creator, Shonda Rhimes, who departed ABC for Netflix with a new production deal. In the same interview, Rhimes was open about the fact that she's written at least six endings for 'Grey's Anatomy'.
"But we just don't end. Every time I thought, 'This is how the show should end,' we've gone past those moments, so I've stopped trying. I have no idea now," said Rhimes.
'Grey's Anatomy' begins its 15th season on September 27th.
