Ozark has been renewed by Netflix for a second season, despite relatively lukewarm reviews from critics.
The cash-rich streaming service recently canned the poorly received Naomi Watts series Gypsy and expensive Baz Luhrmann project, The Get Down, but doubled down on a bunch of other shows including F is for Family and Glow - both of which found a sizeable and vocal audience.
Ozark is directed and executive produced by Jason Bateman, who also stars, in a dramatic story of a financial planner who has to move his family to a summer resort community.
Bateman's acting was praised and it co-stars the always incredible Laura Linney. Netflix may be hoping the renewal peaks interest of its users once again and they give the show a fair bash.
