Oh crumbs! First ITV they told us they were bringing back Thunderbirds and now we're hearing that FreemmantleMedia are eyeing up Danger Mouse for a possible return to the small screen. Good grief!
Broadcast has confirmed that the production company was thrilled with how the show performed when old episodes were shown during CITV's 30th birthday celebrations earlier this year. The likes of Fun House and Sooty joined Danger Mouse and Penfold for CITV's Old Skool retro weekend, but the mouse pulled in more viewers than any of the rest of 'em, setting record viewing numbers for CITV in the process.
Danger Mouse originally ran between 1981 and 1992, with David Jason voicing the title character, and the dearly departed Terry Scott was on hand as his faithful sidekick, Penfold. We can't image who would take over if the series was rebooted.
They just don't make kids TV like they used to eh?
