Glee's Matthew Morrison is set to leave his singing days behind him as it has been revealed he is soon to join the cast of Grey's Anatomy for a guest role.
The actor will appear in the last few episodes of this current season, and while it has not yet been confirmed who he will play, speculation is rife that it will be Jo Wilson’s (Camilla Luddington) abusive estranged husband, making it quite the leap from Glee's almost sickly sweet Will Schuester.
Fans of the show will know that 'Jo' (which isn't her real name as it emerged) was reluctant to marry Alex Karev at the end of last season as it was revealed she was already married and on the run from her last husband.
Executive producer Debbie Allen previously told EW that there was a "big chance" they would introduce Jo’s ex into the series saying: "It’s the elephant in the room, the one piece that we have not been able to fit into the puzzle of why they have not been able to get married, what she’s been holding back and what she’s been dealing with. It gives us great story."
Since Glee ended two years ago, Morrison appeared in a recurring role in the final season of The Good Wife and toured the US in Gary Barlow's musical adaptation of Finding Neverland.
Next stop, Grey Sloan Memorial hospital.
