Well this is a bizarre one, although lest we forget that it was a band that the lovely Michelle (Kym Marsh) started out in before she joined the cast of Corrie.
Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding will be heading towards the cobbles this summer, and is set to appear in four episodes as a "feisty troublemaker" who goes up against Tracy Barlow. About time someone took on that lady!
Harding said of her role; "I am extremely excited to be joining Coronation Street. As a fan of the show it is a huge honour for me to join the cast. I can't wait to get started!"
While producer Stuart Blackburn said: "Sarah is proving to be a gifted and exciting actor and I'm absolutely delighted to have her on board."
He added: "The viewers are in for a treat as her character will be right at the heart of a massive new story for the Barlows."
Harding will begin filming her scenes in May.
